Pros

NVIDIA is a well-run, aggressive and focused company. Jen-Hsun personally sets a tempo and culture that permeates the organization and make it a great place to work. NVIDIA is not a political company, and its great to work in an environment where everyone is pulling in the same well-defined direction. NVIDIA recruits and retains some incredibly smart people, making it a place where it is a delight to work as part of a very able team.

Cons

The hours can be long - you are expected to be available to answer the flood of emails 24/7; but that is part of being an aggressive organization, and provided you are able to manage the balance between work and life, which not all can, it is a rewarding environment to be part of and worth the effort.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep pushing hard on us, that is ultimately why we like working here.

Great Place to Work -- If Working in GPU Business Unit

    Pros

There are many bright folks at Nvidia. Very consistent record of product deliverables. Cafeteria provides lunch up to $5 voucher. Good culture.

    Cons

    1) Several business units at Nvidia; two of the biggest being their GPU and MCP division. It is promoted as a GPU team by E-Staff. MCP is overlooked in many ways.

    2) Current growth may be too fast for their own good.

    3) AND ... YES, they do overwork folks. I've known many who have sacrificed there personal lives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better promote MCP. E-Staff folks should really be technical // some aren't and are making bad decisions.

    Pros

Extremely fast paced, latest technology, smart people. If you like working with cutting edge products, this is the best place to work.

    Cons

Hard management style, must be able to turn off your ego and react to changes in plans. Some people don't do well with the aggressive styles whichn require new hires to quickly find your way in the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on internal advancement opportunities and better recognize good/bad managers. One of the things that NVIDIA I believe has issues with is getting rid of managers that are roadblocks to innovation.
