I have been working at NVIDIA full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

NVIDIA is flexible and gives a good amount of freedom to their employees to solve the issues/problems encountered during projects. Employees are expected to be self motivated and self driven which, for people with these qualities, makes for an enjoyable work place.

    Cons

The company usually is on a tight schedule most of the time which means there is time pressure and firefighting, also new employees tend to have difficulty to adapt due to lack of structure/excess flexibility which tend to disturb employees used with more structure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As the company grows management has to be careful to maintain the current efficient operations in a company of larger size, that is a challenge as more people naturally require more structure. The challenge is to determine what is the minimum amount of extra structure that maintains the processes flowing for maximum productivity. As, in a computer company, excess structure/process is pure overhead.
