Former Employee - Senior Hardware Engineer in Santa Clara, CA
Former Employee - Senior Hardware Engineer in Santa Clara, CA

I worked at NVIDIA full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

One of the biggest reasons would be the talent. Very good internal seminars disseminating bright ideas. Lots of state of the art material to read if you have time.

Cons

Too much middle management who are empire builders. Many organizational changes, seemingly whip lash effects of a project going wrong.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut managers (at any level) too, not just workers when things don't go well.

I have been working at NVIDIA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are productive and willing to work long hours, you can really grow your career.
Android is still changing rapidly, so mobile software engineers never have a dull moment.

    Cons

Hard to find the right work/life balance. Pace yourself or you will burn out.
Reduce emphasis on hacking and short-term thinking. Increase emphasis on long term planning and infrastructure development.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not every project or milestone is critical. Focus on what is most important in terms of revenue.
