I have been working at NYU (New York University)

    Pros

Benefits are very good, time off good too. free and discounted classes are good so there was no problem there.

    Cons

HR has watch lists of the people who they want to groom and promote. If you aren't a friend or on that watch list you are for the better part ignored and/or neglected from promotions, information, opportunities. If your immediate manager doesn't like you; you will be dead in the water while people with less skills and experience are treated like gold.

Management is very top heavy as well. It feels like there are more managers than employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When hiring someone make sure they are actually qualified and also take the time to listen to your current employees because they have been doing the job and know what it takes to get it done. You are just delegating, pay attention to the people actually doing the work.
