I have been working at Namco Bandai

Pros

Being in the entertainment industry, people like to have fun. They tend to be relatively laid back and casual. Always surrounded by art and creativity. Also, this industry is safe - the video game industry seems to be going strong in this weak economy.

Cons

I simply do not understand the hiring process here. They never like to pull people up, even those who have been dedicated and knowledgeable employees for years. Instead, they tend to hire new people from different industries who end up not working out. The complete lack of hope for promotion or recognition has resulted in a VERY HIGH turn-around. Ex-employees have mostly gone to competitor companies. Upper management is vicious and there is absolutely no feeling of trust or sharing of information. The pay here is notoriously low for this industry, so not much motivation there either.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees should be a company's best asset - however, your treatment of the employees suggest the opposite. Listen to the employees and build them up.

I worked at Namco Bandai as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

friendly coworkers there and nice culture to develop games. Sometimes had nice opportunities to improve myself and a bit of free to choose what you want. Open to suggestions to improve workflow or better quality.
The place to work was nice and clean when I was there and relaxed feeling in the office.

    Cons

there was not much communication and open technologies between teams, and the structure of departments and management looks a bit strange. There seemed to be some senior people who worked much longer than others tend to have strong power to control.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO
  2.

Good experience as a first job but no real experience gained after 3 years of work for the company.

I worked at Namco Bandai full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good work environment with a low age average, where work can be made fun regardless of circumstances. Good job for undergrads and decent pay for the ammount of work required per month.

    Cons

Bad communication between departments, especially when work was divided between different subsidiaries, from different countries. Almost no proof of loiality towards staff, regardless of experience inside the company, no pay raise or opportunities of promoting entry level staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Incresing the recognition shown for lower level staff could increase productivity for the entire company.

    Neutral Outlook
