I have been working at Nanyang Technological University as a contractor for less than a year

Pros

The good thing is your time and working places are more or less flexible, that means, you can work at home if no meeting or compulsory requirement, but you need to have a good time and quality management, otherwise, you might always finding yourself catching up deadlines. The work is not stressful, but it's not easy also. You also feel the pressure.
You can build quite friendly relationship with colleagues here.
Welfare are fine, with over 2000 medical outpatient found and around 600 flexban points which you can use to buy air tickets or electronic stuffs.
Dining places are clean, fine and cheap. Shuttle bus and transportation services are fine.

Cons

I can't see much career outlook.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of the labs are using old fashion equipment, more financial investment on hardware are needed.

    I worked at Nanyang Technological University as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

    - Good insurance
    - Decent benefits
    - Good work-life balance
    - Many leaves per year

    Cons

    - Low salary.
    - Very very low annual increment, sometimes single digit.
    - No career opportunities, at all.
    - Very hard to use the flexible benefit points. Either the ORIGINAL or certified copy of receipt is required. Yeah right, as if original receipt is not needed for warranty and EVERY shop provides certified copy of receipt.
    - Very very very very slow process needed if dealing with HR (you can expect around 2 month of "standard" process just to start working after you are recruited by professor).
    - Forget about asking anything from HR if your title does not end with "Professor", even then, many reasonable requests will end up ignored.

    I worked at Nanyang Technological University full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Nothing positive to start with.

    Cons

    Unprofessional, bias, unreasonable, lack ethical moral, lack professional management skills, tend to take sides of their own people and especially people who share the same religious like them. Lack integrity, like to spin up story so as to make themselves look good on the basis of twisting the fact and making what is not correct into right, by rallying their supporters to support their wrong view and twisting of the truth. Do not have the background to do the job but still pretend they are the most qualified individual to do the role and besides, dealing every day, behaving like they are the boss of the company in their unreasonable and twisting belief, and that being their subordinate is like their slave.

    Twisting of facts and rallying their own people to support them on the fact that they are wrong but make it appear like as though they are right and the other party is wrong. Usually, get support by buying group or individual lunch.

    Utterly disgusting and toxin behaviours that is exactly how in history the rich treat the poor. It is a shame that such character still exists in today's era and affecting a public university's reputation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Need the right talent to mangement and not a group of worms who keep bring their own people into the organisation, exploiting and riding on the system to bring all benefits to themselves only.
