People are great to work for, but the company lacks clear direction and "buy-in" from associates

I worked at Nash-Finch full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

The management team at the site level were very gracious in allowing me to flex my hours while attending school for my bachelor's degree.

Cons

Lower pay compared to market average.
Lack of training
Not enough information shared with core associates which drive the business.
Management did not seek placement for me after the company was financially invested in my college tuition.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a more open platform for information about the business and the direction it is headed.

Not much room to advance; the corp is still learning about running pharmacies

    I worked at Nash-Finch

    Pros

The pay is good considering the area the company is located.

    Cons

The supervisors show favoritism, it's hard to take time off even when you have vacation time. They make changes to rules and schedule at the last minute and employees have no say at all. Every year the weekly insurance premiums go up about twenty dollars.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should listen to your employees more and really consider what they have to say. Remember, happy employees are productive employees, and none of them are happy. They all want a union.
