Good company that risks however becoming too focused on cost saves and outsourcing, ahead of local staff value.

Pros

Good work environment if you are lucky enough to be in one of the better teams. A lot of good people work and manage teams at NAB, but some senior management can tend to be more focused on their own patch and how to best sell their own performance to achieve their bonus rather than a true focus on what is best for the organisation holistically.

Cons

Too focused on form (meetings / presentations / internal surveys) than substance (people actually doing their job). Staff are often rewarded more for what and how well they say what they do, rather than what they actually do.

Advice to Management

Get back to the basics of sound cost management, optimising current and new revenue streams and valuing staff loyalty and commitment over a headcount saving.

    Pros

    great worklife balance
great training but there are limits to who can access it

    Cons

    poor decision making
lack of delivery on commitments regarding core system transformation
retention of poor performers at executive level
poor execution of structural transformation which will crucify the culture and performance
5 managers in 4 years = constantky justifying why you exist rather than getting on with the job
short term focused incentives and program delivery which means no one collaborattes

    Advice to Management

bring in better decision makers, be transparent on system transformation progress

    Pros

The people that you worked with made the role bearable, nice new offices in the CBD.

    Cons

No support, lack of training, increasing number of disgruntle staff, managements mandate of doing more with less.

    Advice to Management

When you lead by fear and intimidation it is usually the best talent that leaves first.
