I worked at National Automobile Dealers Association

Pros

Great people. Plenty of opportunities to move around in the company. Lots of vacation days.

Cons

Compensation could be a little better. Work day is not flexible. 8:30 to 4:45. Don’t be late or leave early.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I enjoyed my years at NADA. Management is doing a good job. Maybe offer some flexability in the work day. Traffic is terrible in Tysons.

I worked at National Automobile Dealers Association full-time

    Pros

    - Convention time is hectic but exhilarating if you like fast-paced environments.
    - Excellent benefits package.
    - It is possible to stay for decades in your role.

    Cons

    - Does not attract younger employees.
    - Constant restructuring.
    - Executives and HR leadership do not care for employees. They only have their own interests at heart.
    - Pay is below average for the area.
    - Minimal potential for promotion because most employees stay forever.
    - Unqualified managers who erode employee morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review those in some leadership positions. It is really unfortunate when people get promoted into positions because they're able to do their current jobs, especially when they're unqualified for/ not capable of being effective leaders. These people should be given better management training or removed from those roles.

I give the organization another 20 years before it implodes if it continues on its current path.
