    I have been working at National Federation of Independent Business full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great income opportunity with autonomy. They promote from within. Leadership development program. They take training serious and continue to invest in those who put forth the right effort and attitude. Very supportive environment for new hires as they work to learn the nuances of the field sales rep position. For 13 years I have never had any dispute or had to haggle over compensation due, they are always fair, and provide a generous benefits program with lots of options.

    Cons

    There are no con's about NFIB as an organization, the reality is the field sales position is not a good fit for everyone, including at times highly successful career long sales people. If your going to pursue this opportunity you need to do so with some humility and take the coaching and training seriously, plan to invest in your own preparation and development.

    Advice to Management

    Keep keeping with the changing times, love all the advancements the organization has made with implementing technology.

    I have been working at National Federation of Independent Business full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    One of the last true sales positions in the country. Great cause fighting for small business and for the principles and values that have made this country great. Cold calling commission sales in an assigned territory that allows for independence with no cap on earnings along with a solid benefit package. Initial field training followed by electronic learning, and ongoing sales teleconference calls. Ever increasing their use of technology in the sales process.

    Cons

    Position might not be for everyone. Not a sit back order taking sales position. For it to work you’ve got to make the calls and put in the time. Requires a serious, urgent sales demeanor.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to stay in tune to realities on the ground with field reps and with the pulse and needs of NFIB members.
