Used to be great to work. Now its circling the drain

Current Employee – been working at National HME

ProsThe patients that we serve. To be able to play a part in their life is something words can't express how gratifying it is. The technology we use is pretty neat when it works (iphones)

ConsHonestly, its senior management. They are well taken care of and drive new Mercedes, Lexus, BMWs, etc. Meanwhile they tell everyone else to cut costs. One even bragged she was heading to go play golf one afternoon to the entire office when she left at 2pm. My manager is stressed to the point that they are going to quit as soon as they can find a new job. I'm leaving as well since all the changes have been for the worse and patient care is NOT improving. There are simply not enough drivers on the road to take care of all of our patients. It's going to take someone dying before they realize they need to change things. I'm constantly being nagged to speed things up and not accrue overtime but am being told to also 'take care of the patient'. It has to be one way or another. They parade around once a year and feed us a line of how great we are and as soon as they leave its back to the same old same old.

The schedule is unbearable. There is no work life balance and you can be told the day before or that day to come in late or go home early. Not exactly ideal if you have a family, daycare, etc. If you want to work for peanuts and have no life except for the patients we serve, then by all means this company is for you. There are better companies that do the same thing out there. Almost all of them pay more. I'm taking my experience and heading there. You should too.

Advice to Senior ManagementHonestly, I've given advice and no one seems to listen. They act like they do but they really don't. It's your stereo-typical good old boys club. Promote people that actually know what they are doing not just because they are your friends. You are having the problems you are having because of your lack of leadership. I'd be hard pressed to say this company will be around in two years at its current rate.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
