I have been working at National Industries for the Blind

Pros

Good work-life balance, nice people at the low-mid levels. Good mission.

Cons

Terrible Executive leadership. God awful terrible. They take all the credit, have zero sense of self reflection. Very defensive and territorial culture. Mediocre, at best, for collaboration.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hopeless. Need to completely clean house in the entire officer suite

I worked at National Industries for the Blind

    Pros

mission based organization which also delivers a useful product - some very nice people - some very talented and smart people - interesting and diverse workforce

    Cons

mission and operations function not very well in sync - NIB runs like a for profit corp rather than the 501c3 it is which can be a plus but isn't - executive management does not want staff input and isn't open to new ideas
