I have been working at National Instruments as an intern (more than a year)

Pros

NI is very good about separating work and life. It is unusual to have to stay at the office late. Additionally, NI provides great feedback to employees in a systematic way so you know that you are doing your job correctly or if you need to improve in any way. Parties and happy hours in the office are common place and it is very easy to become great friends with your coworkers here.

Cons

NI doesn't pay as well as some of the companies in the tech/software field. It certainly isn't bad especially coupled with no state income tax in Texas, but it could be improved to match other companies offerings.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish the starting pay reflected prior work done for the company and was not set in stone. It would be much easier to entice the best people to come work at NI.

I have been working at National Instruments full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent career opportunities, cool projects, excellent work-life balance, employees are treated well, very realistic expectations

    Cons

Low pay, 3-5% pay increases every year are not exciting at all, that barely meets or slightly exceeds inflation, especially considering starting salaries.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please provide salary jumps when employees are promoted...jumping out of AE to any other role is a promotion, but we are paid no differently. That is not motivating at all.
