National Instruments System Engineer:   (Current Employee)

Pros

This is very good place to work for starting engineers and students but not for professionals. Very good product's and software you can get lot of knowledge.

Cons

At this company individual abilities dos not make sense only grope, for example when grope can't solve some problem and there is some person who can, they will ask you to help them and do it, but after they will say that this is theiere work and nothing to person who realy did it.
There is one more problem, they will hire chemicals, economist, mathematicals and so on as an AE, after some time this AE's will became PSE, AES or SE's, but they do not have required knowledge as they are not ab specialized in this are. For example why R&D in Silicon Valley (former employee's from other company's) can develop high quality RF hardware, at same time R&D in Austin (these are mainly former AE's) can't develop even middle quality RF hardware. They need to change this practice.

Advice to Senior Management

You have very good employees keep them, increase salary, give them chance to show their capability's, or you will lose them.
