I have been working at National Park Service full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Great co-workers and visitors, decent benefits and housing, promotion potential is increasing as older employees retire in large numbers, living in a National Park is a wonderful, rewarding experience.

Cons

Pay could be a little better, training opportunities seem to be online only.

I worked at National Park Service

    Pros

Work with wonderful front line people who are passionate about their work. Satisfaction from preserving a part of history. Meet alot of wonderful visitors. Enjoyable work when on site working with visitors.

    Cons

Low pay, too many desk jockeys and not enough people on the front lines. Little opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out into the field with your employees more. Treat seasonal employees with more respect.

    Negative Outlook
  2. Lots of bueuacracy, too top heavy and loss of sight of the purpose for the Park Service.
