Pros

The engineers at National Semiconductors are great to work with. It seems like a majority of the staff have been there for a long time and are used to coming in early, getting their work done and leave early. The workload there is light compared to other companies.

Cons

The workload was light, and that means you don't get experience in a variety of roles. The company culture seems a bit old school in that they provide a no frills working environment. They also didn't seem to have some basic methodology in place, the project I worked on did not have source control in place. In some aspects, they had not come up to speed on some basic things that would improve the engineer's efficiency.
