Back to National Semiconductor Reviews
National Semiconductor – “Great place to learn, bad senior management team.”
Pros
great learning place. opportunity given to try different departmental jobs. they hire frequently and look for young ppl to do all the entry level positions. I meet a lot of new hires along with me. Many of them were not people I would have hired if I was running the show. Within my group, quality, I meet many ppl from different departments. Some very smart and great, but mostly medicore, slow, not motivated ppl unless of course their manager is invovled. National has a big campus and ok name within the semiconductor world, so in that sense is a good start.
Cons
layoffs. overworked and understaffed in quality department at least. that is in summary.
I worked for National over 16 months within quality department. Within the first month on the job I had and maintained a higher workload then the rest of my quality department team. The training provided was basically shadow one persone for a few days and figure it out.
Advice to Senior Management
work with your teams needs and help ease over work burden by less meetings, less reporting and less recording stuff.
get rid of lazy ppl within group. give fair share of workout load through teams. rotate work load. follow through with allowing ppl to reach their career goals.
