I worked at Nationwide Building Society full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good training, friendly people, relaxed atmosphere. I enjoyed my first few months there and the bonus was related to performance and it did make me put the effort in. I was also given some oppurtunity to devlop.

Cons

Very Cliquey, Stupid conflicting targets and expectations, conflicting messages from senior managment to what line managers say. The company is trying to cut cost wherever possible, whilst asking us to be more efficent spend less time talking to customer / dealing with queries we were also expected to hit a sales target and deliver the best service possible. It isnt possible to sell to someone with rapport and consultative sales whilst hitting cost cutting targets.

Advice to Management

Take on board what people say and look at your staff turnover. Doesnt paint a good picture of Direct
