    Pros

Good general benefit package for employees at all levels. Incentive comp, however, is problematic, and continuation of defined benefit pension plan is silly.

    Cons

High percentage of executive comp tied to performance of other divisions randomizes annual income. HR has been compromised to an embarrassing extent. Extremely top-heavy, with the negative effects one would expect. Upper management has been too static and is out of touch. Prima donas and fiefdoms abound.

    Advice to Management

Stop "restructuring" to create room for more AVPs and VPs. Divisions that could be run by one competent VP are now occupied by a VP and a dozen AVPs, leading to massive inefficiencies across the board.

    Pros

Financially solid. Pension plan Comfortable physical enviornment Education reimbursement program

    Cons

Currently doownsizing. Salaries on the low side, not competative. Poor health and vacation benefits plan. Benefits costs somewhat high for plans offered. High turnover. High workload. Preach work life balance but not really supported through benefits and workload. Extremely political, who you know, not how you did or what you know. Constant change, antiquated computer systems, business plan always changing, no stability.

    Advice to Management

Time to get into the 21st century, bite the bullet and update your systems. Make IT work for the company toward easier systems and making the claims process simplier, still plenty of duplication in daily tasks.
