Current Employee - Commer Services in Des Moines, IA

I have been working at Nationwide full-time for more than a year

Pros

This was my first "job" job. They were hiring a bunch of people from the city and I was lucky to be included. I really feel like this is a good place to get experience in the world of white collar work. It was still a job, and one a quit, but overall a good experience.

Cons

Call center, no matter how you cut it.

Unsatisfied with change in management that would not regulate claims volume or approve of overtime necessary.

Former Employee - Claims Adjuster in Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Nationwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Reasonable salary, ability to schedule your own appointments and start your work day between 7:00 am and 9:00 am. Company vehicle provided for Field representatives at a reasonable cost to employees, friendly and helpful coworkers

    Cons

Unreasonable production and customer service demands. Management will not approve of overtime even when coworkers are ill or on vacation and there is an increased claims volume for individual employees to handle. Employees are expected to handle an unregulated volume of claims in a standard workweek and are criticized if they are unable to do so.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Approve of overtime necessary to perform the job and have a system that will track the number of claims assigned to each employee.
