Current Employee - Assistant Program Manager in Washington, DC
Current Employee - Assistant Program Manager in Washington, DC

I have been working at Naval Sea Systems Command full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

NAVSEA provides some standard work-life benefits like flexible work and telework. They truly have a great mission, so your value is not hard to see. Good extras like fitness center, eating areas, conference center.

Cons

Some poor work conditions (workspace I am in is BACK under construction - we just moved in) and frustrating policies; some driven by sequestration like travel restrictions and furlough, others just silly, like conference room scheduling and VTC setup.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve IT capabilities (telework, remote connect, VTC, Secure VTC).
