Good Overall Place to work

Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
Washington, DC

ProsThis is a good place to work, especially for young people. Employees have solid backgrounds and are generally very sharp and motivated. The company provides training opportunities. Work-life balancce is more than reasonable, with reasonable hours (depending on the practice), and above-market paid time off. If you do good work, you can shape your career and project choices. Heavy emphasis on consistency in promotion/evaluation process.

ConsThe compensation is generally average. Among top-tier mgmt consulting, it is probably below average. The credo is often "we don't compete on salary." While it is true that there are other attractive benefits of the firm, salary and bonus is a concern.

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove feedback mechanisms. Reviews are treated, as with other firms, as perfunctory. Consider alternative compensation strategies. Stop following market and start leading it.
