The benefits (health/vacation) are up to par with other companies of similar standing.
Cons
Some areas of the company seem progressive but I work in the IT area and an old-school mentality still exists with many of the managers. Information is shared if it affects your position and then only "what you need to know". Recently, a new director of IT has been brought on board, it remains to be seen if the IT department will change for the better.
Advice to Senior Management
Under the IT umbrella, we are responsible for extensive TPM (performance reviews) and a P-Grade system (professional grade). While this can be an opportunity to improve and measure employee performance in a positive way, some department managers use this system to monitor performance by breaking tasks into goals based on numbers and percentages. Education is available but only if it relates to your current position. As an example, I had hoped to take a certificate course but it didn't relate to my position and I was not able to participate. My intentions were to prepare for an advancement within IT. This is an example of the differences between IT, the Engine group, the business, etc.
