I have been working at Navy Federal Credit Union

Pros

Excellent benefits and on the higher end for pay.

Cons

Do not agree with their timekeeping, they pay you only for your scheduled hours, do not compensate you for time worked after your scheduled reporting time ends, no matter how much time is spent working after wards. They will not let you adjust timesheet to reflect correct hours worked. Make promises to arrange for you to come in at a later time on another scheduled day to make up the difference, but they forget or lose track of it. They need to pay employees for all time worked in a day, not just the hours that their work schedule shows for the day.

I worked at Navy Federal Credit Union full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

-Great pay compared to local banks
-MSR position was well-rounded and allowed for more responsibilities
    -Easy to transfer locations
-"Sales" goals are reasonable and nothing like what is required at a typical bank

    Cons

It was hard to reach out to upper management when improvement needed to be made or problems arose. Constructive criticism was typically ignored.

I worked at Navy Federal Credit Union as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Realistic workload, good work/life balance, excellent facility in a good location, friendly people, respectful culture. Fitness center was nice, everyone was on a first name basis with everyone, the President could be regularly seen walking the halls. Overall a very relaxed place to work.

    Cons

Parking was a nightmare, and objectives of business units did not always align, causing extra (duplicate) work. People were difficult to gather for meetings, and not all of the staff was well trained to handle tasks that I would define as everyday.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure that your smaller business units like IT Service Continuity don't fall through the cracks. Define responsibilities more clearly. Set more training requirements.
