Pros

Flexible work schedules, association knowledge, structured training, skill development, a great example of how NOT to operate a business, salary AKA draw, lots of training and development

Cons

Where do I begin? This is by far the worst example of a Corporate America experience I have ever had!! The turnover is extremely high and if you don't belong to the good ole boys club or are dating someone in management, your chances of succeeding are slim to none. The management at Naylor is incompetent and seemingly racist. The new people are put on projects that are destined to fail and when they leave, the senior rep(s) gets their accounts and commissions. This seems more like a racket than a viable organization!!

Advice to Management

Diversify...if everyone is thinking the same, how will you progress? If everyone looks the same, how can you be tolerant? If everyone is dating everyone, how can you remain impartial?

    Pros

    Weekends off and flexibility where needed.

    Cons

    Only hire yes people as managers who know how to give good face and lie.
    You can show loyalty, hard work, give above and beyond with 110% dedication and still have to fight your way up to just hit mediocracy.
    No room for growth unless you are picked to become one of the best no matter your skill or talent level.

    Advice to Management

    The constants through all the change in the last 10+ years has been two senior VP level managers that have been there for more than 10 years, clearly massaging the numbers is not working any more. Upper management needs to change for the potential growth the company is very capable of. Sales managers talk out the sides of their mouths and know how to give good face but never follow through with what they say. Senior sales manager does not know how to do any of the managerial things needed to successfully run a sales force. The management team is like the blind leading the blind. The focus is 70% on projects rather than building and coaching the sales team. There are 4 types of sales people, high dollar reps other than 2 that I can think of, get handed and have always got handed everything, rising reps that managers are building up for success that get catered to not because they deserve it but because they got voted prom queen or king, mediocre reps that work really hard and are good at what they do but do not get taken care of or considered when growth opportunity arises because someone does not think they are deserving, and lastly those that just don't make it because they either can't sell or they are not given the tools needed for success. The time will come when the company is in the right hands and those spoken about will be gone and the company will exceed all expectations, hopefully it is sooner than later.

    Pros

    Great compensation if you can make the minimum sales goal. Lots of opportunities to get help from veteran reps if you stick around long enough.

    Cons

    Stressful. If you don't make your goal in the first month, you won't get the good projects to sell on and it's much harder to make your goal in the second month. It felt I was in high school since most of the inside sales reps are just out of college. There was a lot of unprofessional behavior and drama.

    Advice to Management

    Don't waste time of new sales reps with too many meetings and useless competitions that only a few people have the chance to win.
