Former Employee – worked at Neiman Marcus
Pros – The people you work with is the best reason to work at Neiman Marcus, followed by the discounts that are available throughout the year.
Cons – Salaries are less than industry average, the health benefits are very expensive for good coverage, you get 3 wks of vacation after 1year, however that is usually spent on non-holiday days such as Good Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Years Eve as those are not paid holidays. The annual bonus is dependent upon making a plan that is most often unachievable.
Advice to Senior Management – Neiman Marcus's employee handbook claims that their employees are what makes NM famous and is the companies most valuable asset. It would be nice if NM would invest more than HR training sessions in the people who work there.
