Doesn't treat IT contractors well

I have been working at Neiman Marcus as a contractor

Pros

Most employees (in IT, not creatives who are snobs) are nice and accepting of contractors.

Cons

Company makes it seem like the so called "creatives" are the only ones that matter. Long hours. Upper management treats contractors like they are throw aways. Also moving a lot of IT jobs to India instead of giving higher salaries to people in their own country.

    Pros

Great detailed look into the fashion industry. Many opportunities to connect with people in the industry. People are always willing to help you.

    Cons

Work-life balance is not the most important to most people. TOO many job responsibilities for title and pay. The days never end.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

It can be ok around the holidays . But after your paycheck is often very low. Prizes for selling certain items from vendors, But you are taxed on them.

    Cons

Very unfriendly co workers. HR department known to be indifferent and not helpful to anyone. Present job at Nordstrom is a dream job compared to this. Store often slow so there is little chance to sell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This was perhaps the worst job I had in the industry. Company does not foster a Professional environment. Lots of gossip. Fix the turmoil in this store as it is at a level that makes one dread walking in the building.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
