Pros

Individual projects at NERA can be hit or miss. Some involve truly challenging, interesting, high-profile cases. Others can be redundant document review or programming. But overall, if you stick around long enough you'll be involved in something that will push your skills to the limit. Entry-level jobs are good jumping points for elite business schools and law schools.

Cons

Hours can be unpredictable and there is little or no transparency on the criteria used to set raises and promotions. Without a PhD you can't really expect to make a career at NERA.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Worker satisfaction could be improved drastically by planning for project timing better. Long hours and weekend work should not be the status quo when clients set specific timelines.

    Pros

very smart people, good work if you are interested in economics/quant.

    Cons

monotonous work, very desk-based and limited abilities to work on very different types of projects. Management often does not have respect for work-life balance and bonuses do not sufficiently reflect extra hours put in.
