I worked at Nesn as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly environment, trusted with meaningful work, well-structured internship program to ensure an educational experience.

    Cons

Not much cross-functional interaction unless you take initiative, analytical/excel-based work consumes most of day, unpaid.

    A good, short-stop for developers

Former Employee - Web Developer II in Watertown, MA

I worked at Nesn full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The folks who work there are young and energetic.

For web developers, the hours are flexible and you are allowed to work from home.

The benefits NESN offers are unbeatable. I've never seen better benefits before and I probably never will.

But, the best part about working at NESN is you will gain a business mindset. You will be forced to see how your involvement translates into revenue for the company, and over time it will become natural to think of your work in terms of dollars. This alone is reason enough to work here.

    Cons

For senior web developers, the pay is pretty low. You can easily find a higher paying job with a company who's primary focus is technology.

Also for senior web developers, there is little opportunity to hone skills. You will be saddled with fulfilling requests from Marketing and most certainly Sales, most of which are simple, tedious and do not require intimate knowledge of web technologies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your employees and your colleagues.
