I have been working at Nespresso

    Pros

    The benefits are great.
Coffee Specialist relationships are motivators during this stressfull environment

    Cons

The fratenizing amongst upper management and other employees.
The opportunity for advancement. Forget it if your not a family member, or significant other.
The micormanagement. Having turned a stressfull environment in a customer relationship center into more stress because of petty nonsence.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start hiring management with communication and interpersonal skills. Just because you have a degree or are a family member of a current employer does not mean you are qualified or skilled to be in a management position. There has been quite a turn over since I began working for Nespresso, and it could have been very well avoided if people were looked at with more respect and were not treated like children.

The pay and benefits are the only value of working for this company.

    Pros

Great pay, excellent benefits. This is under the Nestle umbrella so you receive many Nestle perks working here.

    Cons

Poor management, favoritism, nepotism. Management has little to no interest in promoting from within...unless you are a family member or a longtime friend of a member of management. No real program to develop their employees. They treat their entry-level employees (all of whom are overqualified) like 5 year old children. Management is always trying to find new ways to make their employees' lives difficult and miserable. Sadly, a lot of these entry-level employees are better educated than their managers. A lot of the managers only got to their current positions by a mixture of luck, timing and kissing the ass of the right person. Powertrips galore!

Creativity or new ideas are not valued by management. In fact, if one comes to a member of management with any new ideas, they are quickly dismissed or get a casual, ambivalent nod. No one cares about anything except a paycheck here. Everyone just wants to be a monkey behind a desk, doing a whole lotta nothing.

All in all, a very degrading place to work. The only reason anyone stays is because it's a bad economy and the pay is higher than what one would receive elsewhere, in the current market.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have some respect for your employees, treat them like adults. You are not gods!
