I worked at Nestlé USA full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Flexibility, benefits. Seemed like they were trying to offer competitive benefits but the salaries were low versus what I got once I left.

Cons

Boys club, room for advancement. You have to be open to relocation and/or an international assignment to really advance your career there.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Decide on if you are going to centralize or decentralize and stick with it for a while. The strategy changes too frequently for anyone to really settle in.

    Pros

    Good Benefits, pay is decent

    Cons

No work/life balance, zero support from upper-management, leaders are more interested in having non-informative meetings than servicing customers, pay-cuts and job-cuts are coming

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let the employees do their job and then reward them for a job well done. There are too many people micro-managing the routes with no idea how to run a route.

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people that are very knowledgeable about more than just their assigned areas.

    Cons

The new CEO Paul Grimwood. Does not get the culture of the United States and doesn't understand the work ethic of Americans. He thinks we are all lazy, and that we are expendable. Layoffs is his only knowledge of how to cut costs. How creative is that. Nestle Globally has started a Lean Business initiative..called NCE..Nestle Continuous Excellence. There is not excellent about a bunch of hitler-ish rules and measuring how many phone calls you get to know that you are getting too many on the same subject to know that it's time to fix something. Oh yeah, there is no time to fix things because of the unrealistic push of new projects without complete thought of the impacts to the business and employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look for many more people to leave than those that were laid off. Sr. Executives need to grow some balls and tell the CEO the truth. Get rid of some of your company cars, pay for your own homes, bills etc. You make enough money to do it. That will save lots of money for starters. Then think before you make decisions by asking employees that actually do the work.
