I worked at Nestle Nutrition as a contractor for less than a year

Pros

Great brands and wonderful collaborative culture. There is a more entrepreneurial feel for such a large company. Employees are encouraged to facilitate efficiency and change. Work is interesting.

Cons

As with most large companies in this economy, staffing is lean and there is a ton of work, which can lead to work-life balance issues. This lean staffing can also create fires that otherwise could be handled in better fashion. HQ in Switzerland does have quite a bit of oversight, but not as much as other foreign owned companies where I have worked. Much more of a collarborative relationship with HQ than a controlling one.

I have been working at Nestle Nutrition full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Global company, interesting people to work with, interesting business category. If you are reasonably competent and not worried about getting a promotion then this is a good place to park yourself for 15 years.

    Cons

Corporate HQ in Switzerland is rigid and complacent, full of company lifers who have no other ambition than to work for Nestle their entire life. Compensation is surprisingly bad compared to pharmaceuticals. HR is inept and little attention is paid to career development

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Thank your lucky stars the economy sucks because otherwise people would be leaving in droves. Stop being so rigid and bound to corporate procedure and learn to move more quickly.
