The benefits at NetApp are great and the pay compared to other, non-IT companies is above average. The people who work there tend to be good, fun people on a personal level and are on the whole incredibly bright.
Cons
Depending on who is your manager, your experience can vary widely. In general management does not do a good job of making sure information flows all the way down the ladder, nor does it solicit input from those two or more steps below on the hierarchy. It is often said that management is open to input, just make sure it is not something they do not want to hear.
Because employees are very intelligent, they also tend to have an ego. This causes friction when neither party can accept that they may be wrong.
Advice to Senior Management
Ensure that your goals and ideas are not misunderstood as they pass through multiple layers of management and be more accepting of employee input.
