    Pros

Mostly great people, but if luck is not in favor of you, you can get into screwed up group. so be wary...

    Cons

People working for too long in the same code/area, same old thinking. very dated... They don't welcome changes and revolutionary thinking. Overwhelming processes makes you less productive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should identify why the company is falling behind the innovation. Still dealing with the 20+ years old technology. Overhaul by rotating old timers into new roles/areas. Also reduce people manager powers. Get rid of 1-5 ranking of employees and stop people managers to look for victims to place in 4 and 5 to get rid of them.. Instead put all this effort in cultivating the culture where everyone is equal and see how to get the best of every employee that got hired...

    Pros

+ The company promotes a friendly atmosphere. Most people are very polite.
+ Interesting work (at least it was for me)

    Cons

    - Not all teams care about work life balance. Some people end up working 60 hours a week.
    - Disconnect between managers and engineers. They don't really seem to understand what's going on in the code, leaving it up to the engineer to explain to his/her manager why meeting a deadline is absolutely impossible working 40 hours per week.
    - Middle management could do with some more training.
    - Office politics is a big thing. The talker is valued more than the worker.
    - Egos. Especially in some of the core development teams, there seem to be arguments between senior engineers all the time. Junior engineers really have no say.
    - Most new hires look like international NCGs who are willing to work excessive overtime shifts, which might explain the shifting expectations of the engineering side.
    - Average pay for 40 hours. Horrible pay if you're putting in 60, which is not uncommon.
    - Not very diverse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please get some training in people skills and management, and for God's sake... let go of your egos.
