NetApp Employee Review
NetApp – “Join NetApp if you thrive on chaos”
9 of 9 people found this helpfulPros
Good pay, good benefits, nice facilities.
Cons
A lot of it depends on who you are. If you like the startup type of environment, then you will like working for NetApp, because it is basically an overgrown startup. However, if you like working in a more mature, process-oriented organization, steer clear, because you will find NetApp to be a chaotic, disorganized mess. Management has made some half-hearted attempts to implement more process over the last three years, but these attempts have not been that successful. NetApp remains a monument to operational ineptitude.
One area of concern is that the release cycles for their main products are way too long. This will damage their ability to maintain their competitiveness over the long term. The release cycles do not seem to shorten, no matter how often management "reinvents" the release process there.
Advice to Senior Management
Who is really in charge of this company? Senior Management is largely invisible except for their quarterly all-hands.
They do not seem to give the company much direction, provide meaningful support to any initiatives, or articulate a
vision for the company that is even remotely compelling. The company seems to be drifting on inertia.
