Current Employee – been working at NetApp
Pros – + decent healthcare benefits, but costs has risen as well
+ pockets of good management
+ excellent spinmasters in sales
+ compelling technology helps drive sales
+ current sales momentum helps bring in referential business
+ they are attempting to learn what processes need to be improved for bottom line regardless of impact to employee
Cons – - company is starting to sacrifice employee benefits and compensation for bottom $ i.e. exec compensation
- corporate credit card issued, no more reward points for frequent travelers. Company spouts benefits to company and ignores the disadvantages to the employee. Once again, benefiting exec compensation.
- Peter Principle of stellar sales folks being promoted to incompetent managers is in full force
- expects work hours to take priority over personal time
- well-being and benefits to employee are becoming more back-burner
- evolving into a mindset very similar to other large companies. The employee-corporate direct relationship and feedback is fading. Middle management politics is filtering true employee feedback.
- more emphasis on feedback protocol, where it was once refreshing to be able to send email to anyone in the company
Advice to Senior Management – Don't start penalizing your most valuable assets, your employees, by diminishing their benefits.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
