I have been working at NetCracker Technology full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great culture! Actually, unmatched anywhere, in my opinion. Opportunity to really become a "Global Citizen", many opportunities, entrepreneurial spirit despite its size and support from parent company NEC. Great and talented co-workers, extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to getting the job done, no matter the sacrifices. Very flexible when it comes to addressing personal matters during office hours, and very understanding of "special" personal situations. There seems to be a lot of opportunities for career growth, and one's contributions are resounded at many corners and exposed at the highest levels. This is by far the happiest I have been at a job, overall, however, there are some cons...

    Cons

Information sharing is very limited and the company operates very secretively with no-leadership team employees, and trust is not a given very easily. Very centralized decision-making hence not a lot of empowerment is given to employees throughout the world (trust issue). The company does not seem to care much about academic credentials and or industry certifications, and does not seem to value the personal sacrifices of an employee going the extra mile for seeking and accomplishing higher education degrees (graduate school). Organizational layers are very flat (not necessarily a bad thing), and one's career path is very unclear and undefined. No plan for leadership succession is established, and the potential for promotions is not clear. The organization certainly has an a "system" that has worked for tremendous growth since the beginning, but does not like or allow the opportunity when the status quo is questioned.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to new ideas, value young, forward, critical thinking employees, and the efforts they make (both at the job and academically) to improve themselves. Value such employees, and if they show the passion, desire, will, and competencies to get to the next level, don't wait until another company tries to "steal" them from you, rather recognize their potential and "groom" them to help them achieve their career ambitions. DELEGATE more, let regional leaders make decisions, and ONLY get involved if things are not going in the strategic direction of the company. Share more information with employees, especially when a new development of the product (solution) is available as it may (actually is) result in opportunity loss and being replaced by the competition with incumbent accounts...
