Pros

NetIQ had very good middle managers. People care you and how you are doing. In the begining NetIQ had a very flexable development staff and a sound plan on what they wanted to accomplish. Some of those people still work there and if you can work for them you will love the job. The benifits were very good both Health and vacation seemed to be above the standard. The tech support group is very strong and willing to go out of the way to help customers and internal people as well. The HR staff is very helpful and also concerned about how you feel.

Cons

The downside to NetIQ would be the fact that in recent years the company has been trying to find an area that they think the customer needs help with instead of asking the customer. They have become more interested in what the company managers think the customers need rather than looking at what the customer needs. NetIQ has also lost sight of the core products that made the company as well as the quality. if there is a problem with a product the response is one of marketing not one of trying to fix it. We will spend money working with Gartner to get a good review instead of trying to fix the problem.

Advice to Senior Management

Get rid of Chris Pick and go back to the strong core applications that made us a strong company. PM does not get punished for missing deadlines on products and realeases
