I worked at NetSpend full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Laid back work environment with free drinks and sometimes food. You can arrange (depending on your dept) your own work schedule without too much supervision.

    Cons

Netspend does not offer very good pay rates as compared to what other companies are offering for the same roles. Despite the fact that it has been expanding, Netspend does not seem to have many opportunities for career advancement.

I worked at NetSpend full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I joined the company when before it went IPO. The experience I gained from being a private company to a public company was invaluable. I worked with a lot of talented individuals across the organization and enjoyed the growth and learning I experienced.

    Cons

Team work is not fostered at the executive level and thus departments do not support each other cross functionally
Although, the company is now publicly traded, the atmosphere is very sophomoric
    High turnover
Lack of leadership and vision by the executive team

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Design corporate goals and vision for the company and be consistent
Gain a better understanding of why the turn over rate is so high, makes changes to retain talent
Hold all employees to the same standards and expectations
Listen to employees questions in all hands meetings and respond to all of the questions, instead of cherry picking.
