Lots of promises nothing delivered. Nepotism and cluelessness

Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Some good minds and lots of potential.

Cons

Upper management does not know how to let people grow. Too much distrust. Turn over of upper level is incredibly high.l People stay long enough to get bonus and then run. Those that stay do so only for the money. Too many family ties. Too many dot line reportings. The board is asleep at the wheel with a rubber stamp.

Advice to Management

Get rid of the CEO and his golf buddies.

Some great people but poor direction from the top and the CFO is too involved with activities she does not understand.

I have been working at Netlist full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good technology with some smart people with everyone trying their best with what they are given. An opportunity for everyone to make a positive impact. They are protecting their patents which have been trampled by others. This should pay dividends in the future and allow more growth.

    Cons

The top has unrealistic expectations from such a small team, thinking Netlist is much larger and can dictate what the industry will do. Focus and spending on legal fees limits the amount of resources going into supporting/growing the exisiting revenue streams of flash and DRAM.

    Advice to Management

You have almost killed the company with your maniacal focus on HyperCloud at the expense of revenue generating lines. Get a better balance and get more resources to support short term revenue. You need more than sales to give to support the business. Hold QA/yourself accountable when shortcuts are taken that cause issues. When is the last time raises were given out and how do you think your employees feel about that?

Laid-off twice (you should probably avoid this place)

    I worked at Netlist full-time

    Pros

    - Engineering leadership comes with a wealth of knowledge and are willing to teach you everything you need to know. - Most everyone is in the same boat with you (minus leadership) so at least you get to suffer together. - There are people who genuinely care--you'll find them if you're looking.

    Cons

    - Business leadership is poor at best--especially, the CEO. You can hear his rants with a closed door all the way across the office. - The environment is incredibly hostile. Be prepared for F-bombs (among the other vernacular), doors slamming, the slamming of things, yelling, etc. - After the departure of a senior HR individual, HR department suffered greatly. - Everything is needed yesterday and working nights and weekends is the norm. - No appreciation for anybody's work. - If you're Korean, you are looked favorably upon, but if you mess up, the wrath of the Korean language will come upon you (but at least you'll still have you're job). - Turnover. Turnover. Turnover.

    Advice to Management

The current board has done a disservice to its stockholders by keeping the CEO on board as long as it has. Get rid of him! Start there and cultivate an environment where people want to work.
