Pros

Neustar is a very very large organization, and with that comes the better reasons for working there. Benefits, time-off, etc. are very good with them. It is a relatively relaxed place to work and generally management has no problems with adjusting work schedules and or time off to suit your needs. Upper management has been making the attempt to provide the sales teams with more tools and good training. They have paid for many of these tools in the past and brought in some top notch training which will be very useful in future jobs. They have money and do invest in their employees.

Cons

Very very unrealistic goals for the number of sales reps working there. Management believes so much that everyone with a website needs the product, but reality is there are many other solutions available for small to medium and even large companies at a much lower cost. The IT departments which are the targets of sales calls, have a very good understanding of the alternative solutions and are very hesitant to pay a price which is often five times higher than the next best solution.

Advice to Management

Scale back the sales team.

    Pros

Salary Compensation is above average, benefits are decent. They provide recognition and awards for a high level of achievemanet. They also provide training and feedback to perform your job better. They are constantly updating their products and services to provide more options for prospects. They've invested in their infrastructure to the point where they are a leading provider of services at the parent company and IISG for the telecommunications clearinghouse directory, NPAC, and also the IISG division for GSLB, IP MOnitoring and Fail-Over, WebMetrics, Managed DNS. Their goal of becoming a leader in market is on track. Good Benefits, Salary, Recognition, and the opportunity to provide a valuable meaningful service. Several good reasons to work here.

    Cons

There is a tremendous amount of favoritism even when addressed or brought to managements attention, it still persists. Sexual discrimination was rampant, but it also includes other forms of favortisim, personal friendships that interfere with the business. Several former employees have cited this in their exit interviews.
Some levels of management shold not be in their positions as they are not qualified. The direction of the IISG division is questionable in terms of retaining market share, adjustments in pricing and the economic downturn. The persistence of favortism on many levels is disrespectful to high-producing employees . The attrition rate in sales and IISG attests to this. Also there is a bottleneck in Operations inhibiting sales creating a situation where Marketing and Operations drive sales and dictate rather than vice versa. There are also contractors and Operations staff being compensated well above high-producing sales reps.

    Advice to Management

Stop the politics and favortism in the IISG division. Its unprofessional and creates a bad environment.
