Most of the company's products face high business risks, but anyone working on a successful product is fairly rewarded.

Pros

Almost everyone is smart and friendly. The standards promote high integrity. And the workforce is very diverse.

Cons

The company is stuggling to find a profitable line of business other than number portability, which faces an uncertain future.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You've experimented with several new business opportunities, most of which have been disappointing. Maybe it's time to focus more resources on a smaller number of more promising ventures. That could increase your chances of success and strengthen the company's brand.

    Pros

    1. Was a great company under the prvious CEO.
    2. Benefits were good and are being scaled down.
    3. Felxible work environment with casual dress.

    Cons

    1. 401(k) vesting period is 3 years which locks down an employee in case he/she wants to leave early.
    2. The practice of recruitiing and hiring old mates from the companies went under water and down, need to stop.
    3. No incentive for the current employees for career growth and no opportunities, as old boys club, get to take all
    4. The environment of intimidation and extensive pressure is there, with no action on any feedback from the emloyees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Senior management need to look and respect tthe employees who got this company to this stage.
    2. The atmosphere of intimidation or "OUR WAY of HIGHWAY'' need to change.
    3. Current environment that no need to take any risks for the retrobution is too great.

I have been working at Neustar

    Pros

Very good health / life insurance benefits - 100% coverage option
Many wonderful co-workers, very smart and tech savvy sales people often trying to help newbies
Fairly positive & encouraging sales environment & workplace for the most part

    Cons

Management is often too focused on activity metrics. Phone stats (dials & talk time) posted 3 times a day and has kind of a Boiler Room mentality at times.

Highest priced offerings in market leads many prospects to look at competitors and losing sales over price/performance delta. NeuStar's performance edge over competing services has dwindled to the point that in many cases they are just as fast if not faster in certain situations.
