I worked at New England Sinai Hospital

Pros

Complexity of patient population is compelling to clinical staff, medical staff

Cons

Sinai used to have a family feel...cohesive, team-oriented towards the same goal. Since the Steward acquisition, there is more "big business" mentality; Leadership needs to be more defined and communicate more with middle management. Employee of the month has been going on for 4 years- it's getting old and now it's like, if you have a pulse, you can get employee of the month.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication, Loyalty.

I have been working at New England Sinai Hospital full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great President, empowers employees to make suggestions for changes to improve quality and safety, and reduce expenses. Truly comes from the top down.

    Cons

Employees still living in past from before Steward acquisition. Some need to embrace changes and move on.

Unfortunately the reputation of this hospital has spiraled downward.

I have been working at New England Sinai Hospital full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked with a lot of caring and hardworking people. Physicians and nurses are very focused on their patients health and always willing to go that extra mile to help them. Steward has good employee benefits.

    Cons

A lot of employees who had been with Sinai for years have left to go work elsewhere due to the uncertainty of the hospital's future. Job insecurity and poor employee morale is the result.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The elimination of many supervisor/management positions has been detrimental. The unfamiliarity of the job responsibilities of the employees they are managing has created extreme disorganization and poor employee morale.
