I worked at New School part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Flexible hours, supervisors are really understanding your school workload. Very easy office tasks, even though it is diverse, but easy to learn. Able to learn about far more areas and department of the school rather than the only one we attend.

Cons

Other then sometimes there are down time and have nothing to do, or still need to juggle with the job when semester gets crazy, there really isn't any down side. The only real thing might be difficulty to arrange for internship with the commitment to this job and class schedule at the same time, since it will definitely to be in day time hours.

Advice to Management

Management are great! We are able to became good friends and they are great counselors themselves on various trouble you have both personally or school.

I worked at New School part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The New School for Social Research is a cutting edge university doing incredible research at the forefront of many fields. It was a great work environment, the faculty and staff are very committed to what they do, and pleasant to be around and work with.

    Cons

The university itself has a lot of funding issues, and needs to reevaluate salaries and budgets. Graduate students in the Social Research division definitely need more teaching opportunities!
