I have been working at New York Air Brake

Pros – Great team, people are wonderful. The product is very intertesting and enjoyable to work with. Nice physical location and good benefits.

Cons – Management is not grounded in reality - they have overcommitted deliveries and seem either unwilling or unable to recognize just how deep a hole they have dug. In addition, upper management made really bad hiring decisions at the Director and Management levels not once but multiple times...communication from the top tiers to those below is terrible, in one case because the Director has no communication skills or management ability. Also, they generally do not listen to anyone below management level, especially if it is not something they want to hear.

Advice to Senior Management – Promote from the ranks and replace some of the management with people that actually know what they are doing and are respected. Put together a hiring manual for new employees and assign each person a mentor to work with them the first couple of months. Documentation, documentation, documentation!
