Current Employee - Teacher in New York, NY

Pros

Where else can you get the opportunity to mold the future? Not wanting to sound like a cliche, but teaching is an extremely rewarding occupation. Along with the hard work and dedication needed to succeed in this profession, comes the satisfaction of making a difference. Staff and administration are different in all schools, and I have been fortunate to have worded with the best.

Cons

Planning and grading are very time consuming.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to offer staff development to all teachers.

    Pros

Very good training on a variety of different relevant topics.

    Cons

Everything takes a long time to implement. There are many arbitrary budget cuts. Policies change way too often. Schools are closed and then reopened without addressing the real problem
