    Pros

    The Branch Administration division is the best department because of strong, fair leadership.

    Cons

    The leadership of NYCB singular focus was of be purchased by a larger bank and cash out with golden parachutes. This institution began as a small community bank dedicated to providing banking services in Queens New York. Over the years to organization has grown acquiring banks to add to its portfolio to appear more attractive to the Capital Ones and Nations Bank conglomerates. The all male leadership was antiquated in their business methodology and treatment of subordinates many of whom were unqualified for the positions as the bank grew. In fighting, bullying and the hiring of individuals with questionable background was the norm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Maybe if you unify your banking platform and address some of the IT concerns draining the organization some company maybe willing to take the risk and acquire NYCB. But for those who are considering this. Due Diligence.

    I have been working at New York Community Bancorp part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Decent Pay
    good for college students
    less stessful than most banks

    Cons

    too much pressure on sell goals
    too much paper work when opening or closing accounts.
    Management is backstabbing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If they want to be a big bank they need to get better on their marketing department. Also offer monetary incentives for meeting sales goals nobody likes to meet sales goals with out a bonus
