I worked at New York Institute of Technology full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Free undergraduate courses but you need an undergrad to get hired there. Graduate classes are free but they go against your yearly income and you get taxed.

Cons

The new teachers contract took away any good reason to stay, it eliminated the free medical benefits and the annual raises. The contract lasts 5 years and was just put into play Sept 2012
Some Departments are very very poorly run while others are run perfect
Once you are an employee the opportunity to move up is nonexistent
Very disorganized higher leadership, spending money like crazy and enrollment keeps level or falling, the ship is going down and no one seems to realize it except the people that cannot do anything to help it.
Pay is very low at the lower levels and very high at the high levels

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retire, allow someone else to come in and make positive changes for the students and staff. The school has so much potential but it is being held back by department VPs that wont allow its staff to make decisions.
