I worked at New York Institute of Technology part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Since this was a work-study position, I worked hand-in-hand with faculty, so they understood my work load from school.

    Cons

Although they understood my workload from school, they still have expectations and required me to come in for a certain hours during the day, which sometimes affected my participation in school.

I have been working at New York Institute of Technology full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Free tuition for you, your spouse and your kids. More vacation days and holidays than most jobs. Good medical benefits. After first year there is a match up to a certain percentage for retirement account. Some flexibility in schedule.

    Cons

Low compensation, little room for advancement. Very small increases in salary combined with small bonus. High turnover in computer support on all levels. Middle and upper management turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider posting jobs in house first. Provide training opportunities to help current staff advance.
