I have been working at New York Life full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Company has maintained highest possible financial ratings over the past 5 years (current surplus account balance is greater than FDIC)
    - Uncapped earnings potential.
    - Strong training program.
    - Overall positive team environment.

    Cons

    - No base salary (you will invest in the company before they invest in you).
    - Uncapped work hours (you will work nights and weekends.)
    - Management title precedes Series 7 examination sponsorship (you have to be a partner before you can take the series 7)
    - Disapproving market (people will tend to avoid you. They can smell insurance breath!)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Reduce abnormally high turnover rate by offering base salary as offered to first year employees of Edward Jones, Charles Schwabb, and Ameriprise.
